This blog is an extension of the ideas presented in my book (Haiku Notebook Second Edition, smashwords.com, 2010). It is intended to be a forum for discussing haiku and haibun. My hope as an educator is to stimulate interest in writing these forms. So, please feel free to post. [NOTE: click "comments" to read poems by other poets, as well as discussion]. wow. this one line just became one of my favorite haiku. the imagery is incredible... the contrast of the heavy blue sky and the bright red crab is excellent. thanks for sharing this one!
thank you greg! this one is from memories
of my childhood. i remember we used all kinds
of bait, but chicken necks were very good
because no crab could strip all the meat.
a bit gross, but it worked.
glad you enjoyed my poem.
best,
bill
