This Haiku is interesting.

I'm not sure how to take "cupped in the moon". It's an evocative image, to be sure, but I'm not sure what it evokes.

I'll be interested to see how others interpret this - if they do.

Coming back to it, I think I understand it. I wrote an image similar to this in a poem called
"My Bridge is like a Rainbow".

But then I'd see
My river paved by stars, and far, as if/
At river's end, the setting moon—its cup/
Upset as though it too were pouring night/
Into some universal sea.

nice poem--i think both of ours are
on the ethereal side. i'm usually more concrete,
but do get universal at times.

thanks,
bill

The poem is actually about four pages long. My preferred verse form is blank verse.

Haiku keep my mind focused.
